Squamish’s mountain biking community is gearing up for an exciting fall 2025 series of events organized by the Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA). These events provide both volunteer opportunities and competitive racing for mountain biking enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
SORCA Dig Days – Trail Maintenance and Community Building
The SORCA Dig Days are scheduled for:
- Saturday, October 4, 2025 – 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Tuesday, October 7, 2025 – Full day
- Sunday, October 12, 2025 – 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Sunday, October 19, 2025 – 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
These volunteer-driven trail maintenance events are a fantastic way for riders and community members to give back to the mountain biking trails of Squamish, ensuring safe and sustainable riding for all. Participants help maintain and build new trail features, contributing directly to the vibrant mountain biking culture of the region.
OneUp x SORCA DH – Fundraiser & Race Event
The highlight of the series is the OneUp x SORCA Downhill (DH) event, taking place on Saturday, October 19, 2025 at Squamish Valley. Building on the success of 2024, this event introduces several enhancements for 2025:
- Cash Prizing for Pro/Open Men’s and Women’s categories
- Inclusive Racing Options, including:
- Groms Category (ages 8–12, short course, $60)
- Additional ride-arounds on sections of the course
- Single-crown categories for men and women
Participants can practice on the course on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, using discounted Shred Shuttles. Race day shuttles are included in the entry fee. Full-face helmets and back protection are mandatory, and SORCA membership is required to participate. First-aid personnel will be present on-site for safety.
Categories Include:
- Groms Boys & Girls (8–12) – Short course
- Junior Male & Female (13–16)
- Male & Female (17–34)
- Master Male & Female (35+)
- Single-crown Men & Women
- Pro/Open Male & Female (cash prizes)
Entry Fees:
- Groms: $60 (includes timing, apres, no shuttle)
- All other categories: $120 early bird (until September 19), $150 thereafter
