August 1st kicks off 5 days of fun, action and entertainment, over the BC Day Long Weekend, celebrating the 62nd Squamish Days festival. Events will include music, a parade, 8K run, bed races, and kid’s activities. The annual event is a reminder of Squamish’s rich logging heritage.

Ever since the Squamish Valley Music Festival and Pemberton Music Festival came to an end, Metro Vancouver and Sea to Sky music lovers have been hoping for another festival to fill the void. Squamish Constellation Festival could be just the ticket, with three days of bands, entertainers and visual artists, performing in Hendrickson Field. The event will be held from July 26 thru 28, 2019. Genres will include alt-pop, folk, indie, alt-rock, singer-songwriter, funk/soul, brass/big bands and some family acts.

There’s a new event brewing in Squamish, presented by Squamish Beer Festival, showcasing local breweries and cideries. (Squamish Oktoberfest 2018 has evolved into Craftoberfest.) Craftoberfest’s first annual event will be held on Saturday, October 6th, from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park.

Pumpkin Patch in the Park

Held in Stan Clarke Park — just right of August Jack Motor Inn on Cleveland Avenue — Pumpkin Patch in the Park will be back for its third year. The park will be transformed into a pumpkin patch, between 10:00 and 2:00 pm, on Saturday, October 21st. The event raises money for Under One Roof, and is hosted by the Downtown Squamish Business Improvement Association, the Rotary Club of Squamish and Save On Foods. It’s a free event, for the whole family. For a minimum donation of $5, you can stroll through the patch and pick out a pumpkin. There will be music, face painting, tasty treats and exciting kids games. You’re encouraged to come in costume. Special thanks go out to the volunteers who will be unloading the pumpkins, setting up the tables and tents, and displaying the pumpkins.
