Brackendale Eagle Count is Up

From an impressive count of over one thousand in 2014, to less than half that in 2016, the bald eagle count in Brackendale, British Columbia left many watchers concerned over the birds’ fate; but it’s good news this year, as the 2017 numbers jumped from a concerning 411 to 698, mainly thanks to the increase in wild salmon availability in the region.

Squamish Days Loggers Sports Festival

This year marks the 59th consecutive year of the Squamish Logger Sports festival. The events will span four days, from July 28th through August 1st.
Thursday, July 28th will begin with the Kettle Boil Challenge, held at the Squamish Valley Golf Course at 6:00pm. Teams of two will attempt to boil water in the fastest time. It’s free to watch, $15 to enter.
